TUTORIAL CENTER PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Definition
Recruit, train and coordinate the activities of tutors.
Typical Work
Direct and recruit tutors and match tutors with students;
Act as liaison with University or College departments to provide information on the Tutorial Center Program and to discuss student problems;
Correspond with other colleges and with the general public to gather information regarding other institution's tutorial programs and to answer questions regarding the program;
Counsel students concerning academic problems and student/tutor relationships;
Assist in informing tutorial staff of current needs and problems and participate in programs to promote and/or to develop ethnic minority education;
Provide work direction for tutorial office staff;
Perform related duties as required.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree
AND
one year of secondary or college-level teaching or advising with knowledge of minorities and disadvantaged or deprived persons. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year-for-year, for required education.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Examination Requirements:
A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability, and other elements which are established through job analysis.
