Definition
Set up and operate power machines, super sizemaster, super pleater, serger and grommet machine to fabricate and repair draperies.
Typical Work
Lay out and spread single or multiple lays along calibrated scale and cut according to specifications; shape and match materials for color and shade;
Join pre-cut pieces of material by serging continuous lengths, stitching side panels and hemming bottoms;
Press and fold material to form heading; mark drapery pleats and spaces to specified width; fan fold on designated pleat marks;
Sew and tack pleats; install drape hooks;
Maintain drapery fabrication equipment;
Assist in maintaining linen inventory;
Perform related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
Six months of full-time experience or training in drapery or related fabrication.
