POLYSOMNOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN 2
Definition
Journey-level class of series. Under general supervision, conduct all types of sleep studies
Typical Work
Conduct all types of sleep studies including overnight polysomnography (multiple montages), MSLT, MWT, CPAP and Bi-level PAP titration, supplemental O2 titration, pH monitoring, and portable sleep studies;
Tabulate, interpret and communicate the outcome of studies;
Perform the work of Polysomnographic Technician 1;
Perform related duties as required.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Desirable Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory care, electroencephalogram diagnostics or polysomnography
AND
Two years of experience conducting sleep studies in a patient care setting
AND
Certified in CPR
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
