Definition

Instruct others in testing methods, establish uniform standards and procedures within laboratories; write training materials; supervise staff; administer and score standardized and specialized tests.

Distinguishing Characteristics

With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action.

Instruct staff, interns, post-doctoral fellows in testing techniques; conduct workshops in a variety of test batteries;

Typical Work

Establishes standard testing procedures and policies including redesign of test forms and lab records and development of instructional manuals including creation of institutional manuals, patient questionnaires, etc.;

Evaluates and implements new tests within the laboratory;

Develops test batteries and standardization for research testing; recommends tests to research collaborators; creates test protocols; administers tests and supply data for cross-national studies;

Performs literature search to find materials which will test specific areas of disability;

Performs work of Psychometrist Lead;

Performs related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications

A Master's Degree in psychology or related field with emphasis in tests and measurement and three years of experience in psychological testing

OR

A Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science and five years of experience in psychological testing

OR

Equivalent education/experience.
