Conducts investigations of alleged violations of laws pertaining to health care practitioners including pharmacists, physicians (MD & DO), nurses (RN & LPN), dentists, veterinarians, licensed or certified practitioner assistants (pharmacy & physicians); conducts interviews, interrogations, surveillance, and undercover work;  

Makes arrests; collects and prepares evidence for prosecution of drug violations; prepares investigational reports and information to be submitted to the professional licensing board involved and/or prosecuting attorney so that a professional board hearing or a criminal case can be instigated; gives testimony before a court of law or professional disciplinary board concerning the results and facts from an investigation;  

Works closely with and assists other law enforcement agencies in the State and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration in drug related enforcement activities;  

Inspects pharmacies, manufacturers, wholesalers, nursing homes, hospitals, State institutions, and shopkeeper outlets where both controlled substances and over-the-counter drugs are sold, stored, dispensed, or administered;  

Serves as senior enforcement officer in a region; assists with training of investigators;  

Attends disciplinary hearings, meetings, seminars, and training programs pertaining to drug law enforcement;  

Prepares daily and monthly reports as required by the Board;  

Knowledge of:  clinical pharmaceutical practices; drug control laws; pharmacy practice laws and regulations; Attorney General opinions; effective and efficient inspection and/or investigation techniques; practices and structures of various law enforcement agencies; rules of evidence and laws of arrest, search and seizure; procedures before administrative hearings and criminal courts.   

A valid Washington State license to practice pharmacy.
