We're replacing the HRMS Business Warehouse / Business Intelligence (BW/BI) system with a new enterprise reporting solution, Washington Workforce Analytics (WWA). The new system will use data from both HRMS and the Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS) to provide timely accurate workforce data to help state agencies make informed business decisions.
The targeted go-live date is January 1, 2018. We plan to decommision the HRMS BW/BI system on March 31, 2018.
This is a joint project between OFM and WaTech. OFM is the business owner of WWA, and WaTech is managing the project.
The current BW/BI environment will become more costly to maintain over time, and we expect it to be a barrier to obtaining the information needed to better manage human resources and respond to requests for HR information by the Legislature, labor unions, and the public.
The ability to use HR data is essential to OFM and state agency management in their understanding how state employees are managed, how they are paid, and what factors contribute to HR issues like turnover or use of overtime.
The increasing need for data driven decision making in state government necessitates improvements to design, infrastructure, and software that will enable State HR and state agencies to better use and continuously improve HR information.
